The prospectus may offer one to three campground concession special use permits to provide high-quality public service in the operation and maintenance of government-owned recreation facilities. The new special use permits will replace the current concession permits which expire December 31, 2023. We expect to advertise the prospectus this coming spring in 2023 then complete the application evaluation and make a selection by late summer, early fall of 2023. The successful applicant(s) would begin operations in January 2024.
There are approximately 92 sites under the new special use permit(s). 59 campgrounds, 14 picnic sites, 11 trailheads, 2 fishing sites, 2 boating sites and various other day use facilities. The average annual revenue from these facilities between 2017- 2021 was $2,437,858.
Prospective bidders are strongly encouraged to conduct a self-guided visit during the summer of 2022.
