- Summary Denver is seeking vendors to pilot a number of different incentive models to determine effectiveness of different programs to increase biking and reduce GHG emissions.
Shifting single occupancy vehicle trips to cycling tips can play an important part in meeting the city’s mobility and greenhouse gas reduction goals. The Sustainability Advisory Council recommended that the Office of Climate Action, Sustainability and Resiliency (CASR) initiate a financial incentive program to motivate people to start riding their bikes. The goals of this program are to pilot a number of different incentive models to determine effectiveness of different programs to increase biking and reduce GHG emissions. These models will help Denverites form biking habits and routines that they will continue with after the incentive program has ended which, in turn, will continue the reduction of transportation emissions.
