Description

The primary objective of contract is for gravel crushing within the bounds of the Beaver Park Gravel Pit on National Forest Service Lands within San Miguel County, Colorado. The result shall be the continued development of a gravel pit located on the Norwood Ranger District of the Grand Mesa, Uncompahgre, and Gunnison (GMUG) National Forests. This work consists of providing all equipment and personnel necessary to develop this site including excavation and embankment, drainage development, and crushing and stockpiling aggregate materials. Work shall include, but is not limited to; excavation and embankment, drainage development, and crushing and stockpiling aggregate materials. (1.) Excavation and Embankment: Work consists of excavating material and constructing embankments. This work also includes furnishing, hauling, stockpiling, placing, disposing, sloping, shaping, compacting, and finishing earthen and rocky material. (2.) Drainage development: Drainage within the pit shall be accomplished by sloping to drain between two (2) and four (4) percent to the lowest elevation within the extents. (3) Crushing and stockpiling aggregate materials: Work consists of constructing one or more courses of aggregate to be stockpiled per the Specifications, Schedule, and Drawings.





The Government anticipates the issuance date for the Solicitation will be in early May 2024 which will ONLY be available via the Internet at the following address: https://SAM.gov. Prospective contractors must be registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) Database. Offerors are advised that failure to register in the SAM Database will render your firm ineligible for award. Registration requires applicants to have a Unique Entity ID number. Recommend registering immediately in order to be eligible for this requirement.





General Scope of Services and Responsibilities



A. Contractor shall provide all management, supervision, engineering, quality control, labor, equipment, materials and supplies necessary to perform a broad range of construction and maintenance work on Government infrastructure.



B. The Contractor is professionally responsible for the services performed under this contract. The Contractor shall be responsive to Government-furnished criteria, information, guidance, and review comments. All services shall be in full compliance with Federal, State, and local requirements.



The Government intends to make a single award for gravel crushing as outlined in the:



• Standard Specifications for Construction of Roads and Bridges on Federal Highway Projects (FP-14 U.S. Customary Units)



• Forest Service Supplemental Specifications (FSSS),



• Drawings.

Project Location



From Norwood, Colorado. Drive East on State Highway 145 for 13.8 miles. Turn south onto M44 road. Take M44 road for 6.2 miles. M44 road changes to National Forest System Road (NFSR) 619 – Fall Creek road. Continue south on Fall Creek road for 5.5 miles. Turn west at intersection and access to gravel pit (unmarked road). Drive uphill to gravel pit.
