THE USDA-FOREST SERVICE, WHITE RIVER NATIONAL FOREST, BLANCO RANGER DISTRICT, IS SEEKING QUOTATIONS FOR THE WILSON PARK GRAVEL PIT EXPANSION PROJECT.
DESCRIPTION OF WORK: This project will result in the clearing and grubbing of approximately 2 acres of land, conserving topsoil, piling slash, and decking logs over 8” diameter breast height (DBH). Soil erosion and pollution control work will be performed. The existing gravel pit will be expanded from approximately 0.8 acres to 2.8 acres, and approximately 20,000 tons of aggregate road base materials will be produced and stockpiled using crushing and screening methods. The Government may order additional stockpiled aggregate as funding allows (see option item 1). One gate will be installed on the ingress/ egress road to the pit. Interim reclamation of the pit excavation and disturbed areas, including turf establishment will be completed prior to final acceptance. See the Plans and specifications (attached in section J) for additional details.
