San Miguel County is requesting proposals and accepting sealed bids from experienced licensed electrical contractors to replace electrical lighting fixtures at this location: San Miguel County Fairgrounds & Regional Park; and as described in the scope of work below. Services shall begin on a To-Be-Determined date and dependent upon the arrival of the lighting fixtures after award & upon execution of contract. The anticipated project completion date shall be June 30, 2023.

A mandatory pre-bid conference will be held by appointment with DeeAnna Burbridge, Fairgrounds Coordinator (970-327-4321). It is the responsibility of the bidder to arrange for pre-bid conference appointment. The appointments will be held during the week of April 12-19 with a deadline of April 19. The purpose of this pre-bid conference will be to discuss and clarify the scope of work. Bidders are required to attend and participate in the pre-bid conference. Sealed bids will be opened and read by staff following the bid submission deadline. Bidders will be subsequently notified after the successful bidder has been determined.

Work to be performed includes, but is not limited to, the following:

San Miguel County Fairgrounds: Work to be performed includes, but is not limited to,

• removal and disposal of existing light fixtures
• provide all labor, equipment, and materials, excluding the fixtures themselves, to properly install new LED light fixtures on existing wooden service poles. The new fixtures will be provided by the County.
• to provide all labor, equipment, and materials to install electrical service to the new fixtures.
• adjustment of the fixtures to the appropriate areas to be lit.
• Contractor shall provide all materials and equipment necessary to replace the lighting, except for the LED fixtures/associated materials/peripherals that are included with the fixture purchase.

Contractor shall perform a current criminal history background check, including both Colorado and Federal criminal history databases, for any employee or independent contractor hired or retained to work in any San Miguel County facility prior to such person performing any services within a county facility. Under no circumstances shall Contractor hire or retain the services of any person whose criminal history background check indicates that the person has a criminal history that includes any felony convictions or convictions for crimes involving theft or other forms of dishonesty. Contractor shall be responsible for any costs associated with conducting such a background check.

San Miguel County reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids. Award of bid shall be based on price, experience, references and ability to perform the work as determined by San Miguel County. Contracts are expected to be awarded within 10 days of bid opening.

The contractor shall review and execute the “Independent Contractor Agreement for Services” contract prior to beginning work. This contract defines the project, the term and services to be performed. This is a legal-binding document between the contractor and San Miguel County. The pertinent “Independent Contractor Agreement for Services” document is included in this packet.
